POSITION: Research Radiologist for DATICAN Project
CONTRACT TYPE: Full-time or Part-time
DURATION: 12 months, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and additional funding
PERSON SPECIFICATION: We seek an early-career radiologist or radiologist-in-training (senior registrar with over two years in senior residency or the final year of residency) with a strong interest in AI-related medical imaging research.
LOCATION: Based at University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, with occasional visits to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) Lagos and the flexibility to occasionally work remotely.
REMUNERATION: Negotiable

JOB DESCRIPTION: The role involves interpreting and analyzing radiological images, annotating them for research purposes, and organizing them into diagnostic groups. The candidate will need to collaborate with computer scientists, clinicians, and radiologists on imaging analysis projects. The position requires a readiness to learn basic computer coding and imaging segmentation tools. The candidate will work with minimal supervision alongside senior radiologists and computer science academics.
DATICAN: This is an NIH-funded, multi-centre project involving the University of Chicago, Lagos State University, the University of Ibadan, and Redeemer’s University. The project's goals include building capacity in data science for medical applications, creating medical image repositories, and developing AI models and decision support systems for medical diagnosis.
