OCSMRM, SMART Africa Network, and CAMERA Host Webinar on Advances in Low-Field MRI
The Overseas Chinese Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (OCSMRM), in partnership with SMART Africa Network and CAMERA, successfully concluded a special webinar yesterday (September 7th, 2026) on advancements in low-field MRI technology.
The session featured two distinguished speakers:

Dr. Xiaodong Zhong of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), presented findings on Cardiac MRI at 0.55T, addressing the clinical viability of cardiac imaging at reduced field strength.
Dr. Zhiyong Zhang of Shanghai Jiao Tong University conducted a live technical demonstration titled Low-Field MRI: From Promise to Practice, illustrating the technology's current operational capabilities.

The webinar underscored low-field MRI's growing relevance as a scalable solution for expanding diagnostic imaging access, particularly across resource-constrained regions.
SMART Africa Network extends its appreciation to OCSMRM and both presenters for their contributions to this session and looks forward to a fruitful ongoing collaboration.
