Bridging the MRI Access Gap Across Africa: Dr Iris Asllani’s Global Work in Medical Imaging

Through the Consortium for the Advancement of MRI Research and Education in Africa (CAMERA), Dr Iris Asllani has played a central role in expanding MRI education and training across Africa, from practical workshops to mentorship and international collaboration. Her work focuses on enabling African clinicians and researchers to build lasting MRI capacity using existing resources, with sustainability and local leadership at the core.

In partnership with initiatives such as Strengthening MRI Access through Research and Training in Africa (SMARTA), this approach is helping reshape how MRI training and access can be delivered in resource-limited settings.
